Are you a Senior React Engineer looking to build scalable, high-performance applications in a cloud-first environment?
My client is looking for an experienced Senior React Engineer to join a growing engineering team and play a key role in designing and delivering modern, user-focused web applications. This role suits someone who is comfortable owning front-end architecture while working closely with cloud and backend systems on AWS.
The Role
You will be responsible for building and maintaining complex React applications, contributing to architectural decisions, and ensuring best practices across performance, security, and scalability. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams in an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable React applications
- Lead front-end architecture decisions and promote best practices
- Work closely with backend and DevOps teams within an AWS environment
- Optimise application performance, accessibility, and user experience
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews
- Participate in technical planning, estimation, and solution design
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with React (5+ years preferred)
- Proven experience working with AWS (e.g. S3, CloudFront, Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito)
- Experience integrating front-end applications with APIs
- Solid understanding of modern front-end tooling and build pipelines
- Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, React Testing Library)
- Strong understanding of performance optimisation and responsive design
Nice to Have
- Experience with Next.js
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working in cloud-native or microservices environments
- Exposure to design systems and component libraries
