The Education Specialists are looking for an experienced chef to join our Liverpool school. As a school chef/cook, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of the school kitchen, ensuring the quality and consistency of our menu offerings.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes as provided, whilst ensuring the quality is never compromised.
  • Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner and meets expectations.
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
  • Work on your feet, be very reactive and execute daily specials as well as menu changes.
  • Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including proper storage of ingredients.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations before, during and after service.

Requirements for the role:

  • Solid experience in food preparation, preferably in a restaurant, school or care home.
  • Experience of working in a fast and high pressured environment.
  • Competent in a variety of different cooking techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Level 2 Food & Hygiene Certificate.
