We are supporting a fast-growing energy infrastructure contractor delivering power transmission and distribution (T&D) projects across the UK. They are now looking for a Project Manager to lead complex substation, cabling, and overhead line schemes from inception through to completion. This is a strategic hire with full commercial ownership and delivery responsibility, ideal for someone ready to step into a leadership role on grid infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own project delivery from start to finish, ensuring alignment with business strategy and client expectations
  • Oversee financial performance, commercial risk, and contractual compliance
  • Lead cross-functional teams including engineers, subcontractors, and enabling functions
  • Embed a strong safety culture and ensure Zero Harm principles are upheld across all sites
  • Manage client relationships and act as a key decision-maker during project execution
  • Support the tendering process and influence future project wins
  • Conduct safety tours, manage SHEQ documentation, and ensure project audits are completed
  • Promote a collaborative culture across delivery, engineering, and commercial teams

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience delivering major T&D infrastructure projects (substations, cabling or OHL)
  • Strong people management skills and the ability to lead multi-site teams
  • Sound commercial understanding with budget and cost control exposure
  • Experience in both tendering and managing complex EPC contracts
  • Confident communicator, capable of managing internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to work through ambiguity and resolve challenges in dynamic project environments
  • Comfortable managing projects up to 400kV
