Everything You Need to Know
Would you like to join a best-in-class Waste Network Technicians, be part of our pioneering projects, working with our Waste Network team, and bring to life some of our biggest assets? The role of the Network Technician is to ensure the effective operation of the Sewerage Network by carrying out proactive maintenance and inspection of ancillary assets forming an integral part of the gravity sewer network and undertaking sewer surveys and investigatory work in connection with pollution misconnections, customer queries and non-urgent sewer serviceability problems. Working closely with the Catchment Manager to assist with the implementation of initiatives aimed at improving KPI performance and serviceability of the sewerage network including resolving difficult customer issues. Any additional technical training required will also be covered and great working hours too (Monday - Thursday 7:30-3:30 and Friday 7:30-3:00). You will also be part of an out of hours standby cover rota.
Your Key Accountabilities
- Lead and promote a safe working environment whilst ensuring quality standards are met.
- Identify and clearly define any necessary remedial / improvement works to the ancillary assets.
- Proactively seek and develop opportunities to mitigate the risk of network failures, including implementation of agreed measures.
- Investigate and respond to non-urgent customer service issues / queries as required taking ownership of the problem until full resolution.
- Investigate and respond to non-urgent enquiries / defect reports received from the Highways Authority, Environment Agency and Local Authorities.
- Work in close partnership with contract field workers to ensure overall delivery of company targets and objectives.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
It would be desirable to hold a Class 1 license and advantageous to have experience in understanding of the operation and maintenance of gravity sewerage systems including ancillary assets. A strong understanding of flooding mechanisms and how they may be addressed would be beneficial and allow you to hit the ground running. In addition, having proven experience of building and developing effective relationships with customers, external bodies, contractors, and colleagues would be desirable. As you will be travelling across the Staffordshire region, a full UK driving license will be required. The right skills and experience are important.
