In this hybrid role, you'll spend around 60% of your time on automation and the rest on manual and exploratory testing. You'll be involved across the full testing lifecycle – from planning and designing test cases to automation scripting, defect triage, and performance testing. This is a great opportunity to deepen your automation skills while contributing to high-quality releases that make a difference.
What you'll be doing:
- Designing, developing and maintaining both automated and manual test cases
- Collaborating with Developers, Product Owners, and other Testers in an Agile environment
- Investigating issues across UI, API, databases and backend services
- Creating and reviewing clear test documentation, reports, and test summaries
- Performing non-functional and exploratory testing
- Mentoring junior testers and supporting cross-team testing activities
Your experience:
- 3+ years in software testing, including solid test automation experience
- Proficient in tools such as TestComplete, Postman, SoapUI, Azure DevOps (alternative test tools such as Selenium or Cypress are fine)
- Comfortable testing SQL-driven applications
- Familiar with the Software Development Lifecycle and quality assurance best practices
- Able to manage and prioritise your own workload effectively
Bonus points if you have:
- ISTQB or other relevant testing certifications
- Experience in regulated industries or working with safety-critical software
Location & Flexibility:
Mostly remote, usually one day a week in Burton upon Trent for sprint planning and one to one meetings. This can vary, as there is also hardware that needs to be tested which may involve a few days in Burton at a time.
Permanent role with a salary of £40,000–£45,000, depending on experience.
