Are you an experienced UX Designer / User Experience Designer with expertise in the GOV.UK Prototype Toolkit and GDS framework? Consulting Point is recruiting on behalf of a prestigious client looking for a UX Designer to join their team.

About the Role:

As a UX Designer, you will play a key role in delivering intuitive, user-centred designs for digital services that align with GOV.UK and GDS standards. You will be responsible for structuring pages using HTML, styling with CSS, and implementing components from the GOV.UK Design System. You will work within agile, multidisciplinary teams to support the full Discovery, Alpha, and Beta phases of the UK Government Digital Service (GDS) framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and prototype digital services following GOV.UK standards.
  • Use the GOV.UK Prototype Toolkit to create and structure web pages.
  • Style pages effectively using CSS and the GOV.UK Design System.
  • Collaborate with researchers, developers, and stakeholders in an agile environment.
  • Contribute to user research, usability testing, and iteration cycles.
  • Ensure designs meet accessibility and usability best practices.
  • Support the team through Discovery, Alpha, and Beta phases of the GDS framework.
  • Prepare and present work for GDS assessments.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven UX Design experience within UK government digital services.
  • Strong understanding of GDS framework and service standards.
  • Hands-on experience with the GOV.UK Prototype Toolkit.
  • Ability to structure pages using HTML and style with CSS.
  • Familiarity with GOV.UK Design System components.
  • Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
