Daily Rate: £90-£105

Veritas Education is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Educational Support Workers to join primary schools across Wakefield. We offer both full-time and part-time opportunities to suit your schedule, with roles available on a temporary basis, with the potential for permanent placements.

Role Overview:

As an Educational Support Worker, you will support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and complex needs in a primary school setting. You'll work closely with teaching staff to ensure that students have the resources and support needed to thrive in a positive, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in developing and delivering individualised learning activities for students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to address the specific learning needs of students.
  • Help in creating and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Support classroom management and assist with routine administrative tasks.
  • De-escalate challenging behaviour and support students in developing positive coping strategies.
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and ensure your knowledge stays up to date.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people or adults with SEN/complex needs is essential.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management principles and positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training is required (this can be offered by Veritas).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to the dynamic nature of the role.
  • Candidates must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS upon registration.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
