We’re on the lookout for a brilliant Payroll Specialist who’s got a head for numbers, a love for detail, and a passion for making sure everyone gets paid correctly and on time. You’ll be the go-to person for all things payroll—keeping things running smoothly, staying on top of compliance and legislation, and making sure our people feel supported and confident when it comes to their pay, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payroll.
Here’s What You Can Expect To Be Doing:
- Running payroll from start to finish on a weekly and monthly basis
- Maintaining and updating payroll records including new starters, leavers, and changes in pay or benefits
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (e.g., tax, pension, national insurance)
- Spotting and sorting any payroll hiccups before they become a problem
- Teaming up with our HR and Finance teams to keep everything aligned
- Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to internal stakeholders and external agencies
- Answering questions from our team about pay, benefits, and deductions
- Supporting with audits and keeping everything confidential and secure
- Staying sharp on payroll legislation and best practices
- Supporting our Payroll Administrator and wider Payroll team
A Few Things About You:
- A payroll certification (e.g., CIPP, APA) is a plus, as is experience with HRIS or ERP systems
- You’re familiar with relevant payroll legislation and statutory requirements
- You bring 5 years of experience in a payroll processing role
- You communicate clearly and handle sensitive information with discretion
- You’re proficient in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Sage, Workday) and Excel
- You’re organized, detail-focused, and manage your time effectively
- You’re highly accurate with excellent numerical and analytical skills
- You have a strong understanding of payroll systems and processes
