We have an exciting opportunity for an Accessory Designer to join the Lucy & Yak Team! The Accessory Designer will research, design, and deliver innovative collections of Accessories, Homeware, and gifts, aligning with our business strategy and key deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop accessory designs, focusing on brand identity, aesthetics, and functionality.
  • Collaborate closely with other designers to ensure accessories align with clothing, seasonal prints, and colour palette.
  • Update core lines and design new shapes across accessories, including homeware and gifting.
  • Create technical drawings, select sustainable materials, and oversee the manufacturing process.
  • Liaise with supplier partners to ensure deadlines are met and milestones achieved within the critical path.
  • Contribute to innovation by identifying new ideas within the supply base.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Garment Tech, Buyers, and Merchandisers.
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing Manager to source and develop new sustainable fabrics and factories.
  • Attend design trips to research new designs and fabrications.
  • Visit existing and new suppliers to view showrooms for design development and build relationships.

  • Be responsible for product briefings to suppliers, developing products from prototypes to pre-production samples.
  • Ensure styles are constructed cost-effectively, within relevant price ranges, and achieve desired margins.
  • Create accurate and detailed CADs, including BOMs.
  • Understand technical performance to ensure products are fit for purpose.
  • Attend sample review meetings.
  • Understand current trade, opportunities for growth, and newness.
  • Ensure samples are correct and ready for buy sign-off.
  • Develop strong working relationships with supplier partners.
  • Approve fabrics and trims for development.
  • Contribute to the supplier scorecard process and strategy.
