As we expand across new partners, products and markets, we are seeking a Fullstack Tech Lead to help shape the future of our platform.
This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role where you'll own delivery of initiatives, drive architecture, and mentor engineers while actively contributing to the codebase. You'll focus not just on technology, but on alignment, collaboration and technical excellence across our teams. You'll play a key part in a tight-knit, cross-functional team of engineers, designers, product people, insurance and commercial experts helping to scale Wrisk's platform in a sustainable, secure and elegant way.
What You'll Do
- Own technical delivery: Drive the design, architecture and implementation of core initiatives, platform services and front-end applications using Kotlin, Java, TypeScript and React.js
- Align team and vision: Translate product goals into technical direction, ensuring engineers are focused, supported and working toward the same outcomes
- Lead by example: Stay hands-on, write production-grade code, and foster a high standard of engineering practice across the team.
- Shape architecture: Guide technical decision-making and architectural evolution, balancing trade-offs between pragmatism and long-term quality
- Mentor and grow others: Support engineers through code reviews, design workshops, and one-to-one mentorship
- Bridge technical and non-technical: Work with product, design, and operations stakeholders to align technical feasibility with business outcomes
- Champion DevOps and delivery: Guide infrastructure evolution using AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD best practices for smooth, resilient delivery

Tech Stack: Kotlin/Java, Http4k/JDBI, PostgreSQL, AWS Lambda, AWS ECS, AWS SNS/SQS, Terraform, TypeScript, React.js.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or Tech Lead capacity
- Proven experience building and operating scalable, resilient systems using modern cloud technologies
- Strong Kotlin or Java skills, with frontend experience in React.js and TypeScript
- Comfortable with distributed systems, APIs, and microservices architectures
- DevOps experience with AWS, infrastructure-as-code, and observability tooling
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A passion for Agile ways of working, technical mentorship, and sustainable software practices
- Fluency in English is essential; German is a strong advantage
- Someone who is comfortable working with ambiguity and is able to cope with pressure and deadlines and ensure their team rises to meet challenges
