Howells Solutions are working in partnership with a leading Construction & Regeneration Main Contractor to recruit a Business Development Director to be responsible for increasing revenue through identifying new business opportunities, raising the company's profile and increasing brand awareness across a range of services to target work within key areas:
- Social Housing Projects: Planned Maintenance, Retrofit, Decarbonisation, Refurbishment Schemes.
- Construction / Framework Projects: Education, Public sector and Energy Services Projects.
We are interested in speaking to Business Development Directors or Senior Business Development Managers with experience of strategically leading a sales team to increase company revenue, with a proven track record of winning work with housing associations, local councils or public sector.
Core Responsibilities:
- Continually identify and develop a pipeline of new clients.
- Pursue business opportunities with strategic targets whilst nurturing existing client relationships.
- Developing strategic business development plans.
- Developing relationships with consultants, procurement organisations and clients to identify key routes to market and secure framework opportunities.
- Attend regional and national events and exhibitions to drive brand awareness.
- Motivate and incentivise the Business Development Team to drive sales performance.
- Provide insight to customer needs and input/feedback from both internal and external groups to drive innovation of services.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective marketing strategies, including market segmentation, value proposition development, technology positioning, pricing, branding, channel and communications strategy development.
- Subject matter expert regarding client specific opportunity assessment, market evaluation, market research, financial evaluation.
- Supporting Bid Team and Marketing throughout the proposal preparation and delivery process.
- Manage Sales and Marketing budgets.
- Lead from the front creating a cohesive, efficient sales team hungry to succeed.
- Day to day management of sales team including recruitment and training.
What type of person are we looking for?
- Previous experience working in a senior business development role for a similar company.
- Proven track record of generating new business and achieving revenue growth within Social Housing and Regeneration Markets.
- Natural leader and motivator of business development teams.
- Ambitious and target focused with a drive to succeed.
- Business Administration or similar degree level education beneficial.
- Commercially astute.
- Advanced IT skills (Microsoft package).
