We are seeking proactive and approachable Facilities Officers for Student Engagement and Security to join our Estates and Facilities team during the academic term weeks.
In this highly visible, front-line role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and positive experience of our students, staff, and visitors. Your presence on campus will foster a sense of community while maintaining a secure and well-maintained environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Patrolling campus buildings and grounds to ensure safety, security, and compliance with university policies.
- Engaging confidently with students to encourage positive behaviour and address conduct concerns sensitively.
- Responding promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, providing accurate and detailed reports.
- Assisting with fire safety, evacuations, and first aid as required.
You will be part of a dedicated and supportive team committed to enhancing the student experience. We offer development opportunities, training, and the chance to make a real difference in the university community.
As Facilities Officer for Student Engagement and Security, you will have a Skills for Life English and Maths qualification or an equivalent standard (GCSEs at Grade E/2) or above, and a full and valid UK driving licence. You will have basic IT skills including the use of email and other IT packages to deliver the role, as well as experience of working in a facilities, cleaning or security environment, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with students and staff alike.
Please note that there will be a requirement for post holders to be available for work and flexible during University VIP events, Open Days, and Awards Ceremonies.
