Location: Faculty of History, George Street, Oxford OX1 2RL and from the date the Humanities department moves to its new premises, The Stephen A Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Oxford OX2 6AH.

About the role

We are delighted to announce the recruitment for a full-time, permanent, Academic Administration Manager - one of three new roles within our Academic Administration team at the University of Oxford’s Faculty of History. This expansion reflects a considered and strategic development, reflecting the Faculty’s ongoing commitment to excellence, innovation and providing outstanding support to our academic community. As part of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting both students and academics, helping to shape the future of academic administration within the Faculty of History.

The role

The successful applicant will oversee the course administration for all graduate and undergraduate programmes. Working with the Education Manager and line-managing the Undergraduate Officer, Taught Postgraduate Degrees Officer and Research Degrees Officer, this post supports students and academic staff in the Faculty of History. It is a complex role combining both strategic high-level advice and student support with practical, day-to-day operational activities.

About you

You will have an honours degree or equivalent experience and evidence of very strong intellectual and analytical skills, and significant academic administrative and student-facing experience in a higher education institution, across both undergraduate and graduate students. Also, you will have experience of line-managing a multi-disciplinary team and of developing staff and of delegating effectively; as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information and procedures effectively and persuasively at all levels within and outside the University, including students and academic staff. Experience of servicing committees and of student management systems (for example eVision) is desirable.
