Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations Support: Guide line managers on ER issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance, and absence management, ensuring paperwork accuracy and compliance. Support managers with complex ER cases, advising on process, documentation, and actions. Assist in performance management, including implementing improvement plans and managing poor performance. Support handling sensitive ER matters in line with policies and employment law.
- HR Advisory and Guidance: Be a point of contact for HR queries, providing timely and accurate responses. Implement and communicate HR policies consistently. Advise on employee engagement, motivation, and retention strategies.
- HR Administration: Handle administrative tasks throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, contracts, and changes. Support HR reporting, tracking metrics like attendance and turnover. Assist with HR projects, providing logistical support. Coordinate with payroll regarding hours and queries.
- Training & Development: Support training sessions for managers on HR policies and ER issues. Identify training needs and monitor employee development.
- Compliance & Policy Management: Ensure HR practices comply with UK employment law and internal policies. Stay updated on employment law changes and advise accordingly. Audit HR procedures for compliance.
Profile: Key Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience in a generalist HR role, focusing on employee relations, disciplinary processes, and performance management.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- Analytical mindset with practical problem-solving skills.
- Discretion and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office; HRIS experience is a plus.
- Experience in fast-paced or multi-site environments.
- Ability to produce HR reports and analyze HR data.
