We are looking for a commercially focused Electrical Estimator to join a well-established Tier 1 contractor with a strong pipeline of high-value building services projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on complex tenders and wants to play a central role in preconstruction strategy on schemes ranging from £1m to £15m in electrical value.

You will take ownership of tender submissions, working closely with preconstruction and operations teams.

The role:

  • Interpreting drawings and specifications, preparing detailed quantity take-offs (lighting, LV/HV, BMS, containment, data, fire/intruder), building cost models using leading estimating software, and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotes.
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities, supporting bid presentations, and providing robust handover packs for project delivery teams.

About you:

  • 3-5 years of UK-based experience in electrical estimating within the construction sector.
  • An NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent is essential, along with a strong working knowledge of BS 7671 (18th Edition), CIBSE guides, Building Regulations, and relevant British Standards.
  • Proficiency in Excel and mainstream estimating tools is required, along with the ability to benchmark labour, calculate prelims, and apply SMM7, NRM2, or CESMM principles.
  • It would be advantageous if you have used digital take-off tools such as Bluebeam or CostX, or have experience estimating renewable and low-carbon technologies (e.g. PV systems, EV charging, battery storage, heat pumps).
