Team Overview: Ashurst Reach is the firm's dedicated flexible legal resourcing platform which provides the firm and its clients with access to a high quality talent pool of consultant lawyers and paralegals. We understand that our clients need access to highly qualified lawyers, project managers and paralegals, often at short notice and/or for short periods, whether that be to meet internal demands, backfill leave, provide cover during recruitment or to assist with projects. We deliver a seamless, fast and trusted solution to these issues.

Essential skills and experience: Ashurst Reach are recruiting an experienced lawyer with a strong background in employment, to join a leading legal team on a 9-month contract basis. We are looking for consultant lawyers who can:

  • Develop and implement best practice legal strategies for risk management and compliance in employment matters.
  • Provide expert legal advice and support to Human Resources and business units on a wide range of employment issues, including recruitment, policy, diversity, change programs, investigations, disputes, compensation, benefits, and pensions.
  • Represent the bank in legal proceedings related to employment, such as litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations.
  • Draft, review, and update legal documents, including employee contracts, policies, severance agreements, incentive plans, and pension documentation.
  • Develop and deliver training programmes to educate employees on legal and regulatory requirements related to employment, incentives, and pensions.

Essential Skills: Qualified solicitor or barrister in the UK (or equivalent commonwealth jurisdiction), with experience in a leading law firm and/or in-house, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and technical excellence in employment law, including strong litigation experience.
