Hideous Slots and Fruity Slots are affiliate websites in the casino industry, focusing on engaging slot and casino content and SEO-focused evergreen pages. We are now hiring 2-3 Senior Content Writers to join our team and contribute across both sites.

About You

You are a confident and capable writer who can:

• Write in a professional yet engaging tone, adapting your style across formats.
• Communicate complex features in plain, accurate terms.
• Balance originality, SEO, and clarity without relying on filler content.
• Work independently and manage your own projects.
• Stay informed of slot releases, new studios and casinos, and industry trends.
• Meet targets and deadlines.
• Learn new tools and processes quickly.

What you bring to the role

• Fluency in written English.
• Familiarity with the online casino industry, including bonus offers, terms and conditions, and compliance.
• A solid understanding of online slots (including modern features and mechanics), popular studios, and emerging trends.
• Familiarity with the online casino streaming niche and our place within it.
• Proficiency working in WordPress with the ability to learn a new CMS quickly.
• A desire to showcase your own content ideas, including blog and news pieces.
• A keen eye for detail when styling front-end content.

Experience

The ideal candidate should have either:

• Three or more years of experience writing iGaming content OR
• At least one year of hands-on experience handling the full content lifecycle (idea, writing, editing, publishing).

Nice to Have

• Experience with Photoshop, Figma, and Notion.
• Experience with proofreading.
• Familiarity with SEO principles.
• Knowledge of how the casino landscape differs across countries.

Responsibilities

• Writing evergreen content for readers from the United Kingdom and New Zealand, following SEO best practices.
• Creating game studio overviews and blog posts to appeal to our readers.
• Researching new trends in the industry and creating content around them.
• Pitching your own ideas for blogs and recurring content formats.

Application Process

Due to the high volume of applications for content writing jobs, many of which are submitted through automated processes, we are attaching an optional task below for applicants to complete should they desire.

The task is designed to take less than 30 minutes if written from scratch. However, questions may be answered using content from your existing portfolio if it is a good fit.

None of the content submitted as part of this task will be published or used commercially. In the event that we wish to use an applicant's work, we would reach out to gain permission, and the original writer would be compensated at a rate of £0.50 per word.

If you do not wish to complete the assessment with your initial application, you can instead attach your portfolio. However, applicants progressing to the final stage of the process will be required to complete this task before any offer is made.

This assessment helps us determine whether a writer can match the tone and style of our website. We aim to be transparent about this before the recruitment process begins.
