Are you an organized, detail-driven leader with a passion for lab operations? At Avantor, we are looking for a Laboratory Services Manager to take the reins of our essential lab support team.
About The Role
You will lead a team of five Laboratory Technicians and oversee a suite of essential services including clinical waste collection, glassware maintenance, autoclaving, pipette calibration clinics, equipment cleaning, mycoplasma testing, and cold storage maintenance. Your leadership ensures labs stay functional, safe, and efficient, empowering our researchers to focus on breakthrough discoveries.
Key Responsibilities
- Line management and daily coordination of the lab support team
- Oversee services such as glass wash, waste removal, and equipment cleaning
- Lead SOPs and other documentation such as Risk assessments, COSH assessments developments and ensure smooth operational continuity
- Monitor service KPIs, support root cause analysis, and implement improvements, other ad hoc tasks around the lab
- Guarantee data accuracy and compliance across services
- Drive adherence to health & safety protocols and site regulations
- Collaborate with Logistics and On-Site Services Managers for operational coverage and continuous improvement
- Perform cost-saving analysis and provide regular data-driven insights
- Track service performance, respond to last-minute requests, and ensure scope fulfillment
- Act as the primary point of contact for Laboratory Services with all internal stakeholders
- Utilize digital tools to manage workload, resources, and timelines
