A Cascade of Opportunities! Anglian Water’s Digital, Data & Technology team is transforming how we deliver digital solutions—shifting from a service provider to a strategic partner that builds impactful, user-centred digital products. We’re looking for a talented User Experience Designer (UX) to join our agile Digital Product team. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary squad of engineers, product owners, researchers, and stakeholders to co-create intuitive, data-first digital experiences that improve business performance and deliver real user value. You’ll be a critical contributor in designing and maintaining seamless, accessible, and engaging user journeys across multiple digital platforms, all while growing toward becoming a lead UX/UI resource within our growing in-house capability.
Key responsibilities:
- Product UX/UI Design - You will be responsible for designing annotated UX/UI prototypes for web, mobile, and responsive interfaces using tools such as Figma. This includes producing both low and high-fidelity design assets and conducting user research and usability testing. You will gather insights through methods such as surveys and interviews to inform your design decisions. A key part of your role will involve building and mapping user flows, user journeys, and personas. You will also create and maintain component libraries, design systems, and UI elements that align with our brand standards. Working closely with Product Owners, you will test the effectiveness of your designs using tools like Hotjar, Google Analytics, and BrowserStack. You’ll contribute to design sprints and iterative refinement cycles, ensuring that all design work is data-informed, accessible, and aligned with Anglian Water’s digital standards.
- Agile Product Development - You will be an active participant in agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives. Your responsibilities will include collaborating on backlog refinement, defining user story acceptance criteria, and contributing to product roadmaps. You will help champion usability across the team, minimising technical and design debt wherever possible. A strong focus on innovation, transparency, and continuous improvement will be essential to your success. You will also work closely with colleagues in security, architecture, and operations to ensure that all design work contributes to secure, scalable, and high-performing digital solutions.
