Telephone assessment prioritisation of all patients who contact the Out of Hours Service with urgent medical needs .
Giving appropriate advice to patients and carers, in managing their urgent care needs and if necessary arranging referral of patients to a range of other services.
This role is Part time, 17.5 hours per week, Using clinical decision software to assess all presentations to the Out of Hours Service, prioritising all calls whilst maintaining good public relations and promoting effective timley access to care.
Ensuring contemporaneous record keeping within the embedded clinical decision software .
Communicate effectively and skilfully with the use of observational and active listening skills and dialogue to enssure that comprehensive patient histories are recorded.
Be accountable for autonomous clinical decision making whilst managing unpredictable workload.
organise the prioritisation and flow of patient referrals to the multidisciplinary team of call operators, drivers, nurse clinicians and doctors, highlighting and recording significant events.
