We are seeking a skilled and proactive Specialist Technician to support our performing arts department. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with technical expertise in audio equipment and studio operations, combined with a passion for supporting creative learning environments.

You'll play a key role in maintaining and operating technical equipment across rehearsals, performances, and teaching spaces. When you join UCEN Manchester, you become part of a passionate team dedicated to transforming lives and shaping the future of education in Greater Manchester.\\n\\nBenefits\\n\\n35 days paid annual leave plus 8 bank holidays\\n3 well-being days per year\\nSignificant pension contribution\\nRetail discounts\\nEmployee Assistance Program\\nCycle to work schemeRole Responsibilities\\n\\nStudio Maintenance: Ensuring audio studios are fully operational, clean, and technically sound.\\nRehearsal Room Maintenance: Overseeing the upkeep and functionality of rehearsal spaces, including sound systems.\\nEquipment Management: Handling the check-in and check-out process for technical equipment, maintaining inventory, and ensuring items are in good working order.\\nAudio Workshop Support: Demonstrating equipment and techniques during audio workshops, assisting students with hands-on learning.\\nRecording Sessions: Leading and supporting recording sessions with performing arts students, ensuring high-quality audio capture and production.\\nPerform routine checks and maintenance on studio and rehearsal room equipment.\\nProvide technical support during classes, workshops, and performances.\\nMaintain accurate records of equipment usage and servicing.\\nCollaborate with academic staff to deliver practical demonstrations and support student projects.\\nTroubleshoot technical issues and provide timely solutions.For more information, please see the attached role profile for an overview of general role responsibilities.\\n\\nSkills, Qualifications and Experience\\n\\nTo be successful in this role, you will need to:\\n\\nLevel 2 English & Mathematics\\nIndustry relevant qualification as applicable by specialist function\\nFirst Aid qualification (or be prepared to work towards within first year)\\nSpecific relevant industry experience\\nSpecific relevant specialist skill\\nAbility to work as a team or individually\\nWorking to deadlines\\nExperience in audio engineering, studio management, or technical theatre.\\nProficiency with recording equipment, DAWs (e.g., Logic Pro, Pro Tools), and live sound systems.\\nStrong organisational and problem-solving skills.\\nAbility to communicate effectively with students and staff.\\nA proactive and collaborative approach to technical support.\\nExperience working in an educational or performing arts environment.\\nFamiliarity with theatrical software such as QLab.\\nKnowledge of lighting and AV systems.Safeguarding\\n\\nThe LTE Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
