A successful international organisation has an opportunity for a Commercial Accountant to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract in Liverpool with hybrid working.
The Commercial Accountant reports into the Head of Finance and will be responsible for business partnering two Commercial directors and their teams to support them in delivering revenue and profit for the UK business. You will aid in the delivery of the business’s objectives and targets through proactively evaluating and challenging business performance and margin control, adding value to and influencing decision-making by recommending solutions and options.
This is a key role focusing on business partnering the commercial function on tender bids, profitability analysis, and business cases.
As Commercial Accountant your remit will include:
- Working alongside the Head of Finance to business partner the commercial team to drive financial performance.
- Preparation of monthly reporting data including revenue, costs analysis, engineering overheads and P&L data - producing final management accounts within 4 days of month end.
- Providing insight and support using both financial and non-financial data and KPIs, as well as challenging the commercial function on performance, future plans and outlook.
- Supporting the tender process along with the area teams, ensuring financial due diligence whilst also challenging the commercials.
- Supporting business decisions and analysis across a wide range of ad hoc requests for the region.
To be successful as Commercial Accountant you will have the following skills and experience:
- Accounting qualification ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to both constructively challenge and influence at all levels
- Business partnering a commercial function, with particular experience in tender processes or business cases and financial analysis.
- Able to work accurately at pace to demanding deadlines
- Competent at supporting multiple stakeholders and prioritising work
Competitive Salary £60,000 to £65,000 + Benefits Package
