I’m working exclusively with a well-established, growing sub-contract engineering business based in Braintree, Essex. They supply high-quality precision components to a wide range of industries, including medical, communications, and more. Due to increased demand within their CNC Turning department, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC Turner with proven programming, setting, and operating experience. You’ll be producing high-precision components to tight tolerances using modern CNC lathes, within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes (Fanuc control essential)
  • Working with bar feed equipment
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Machining components to tight tolerances
  • Using a variety of measuring and inspection equipment
  • Producing both small batch and production runs as required
  • Assisting with general workshop duties as needed
  • Maintaining a positive, proactive attitude and contributing to the wider team
What You’ll Need
  • Proven experience programming, setting, and operating Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes
  • Haas machine experience is beneficial (Haas and Fanuc controls are similar)
  • Familiarity with Mastercam or OneCNC software would be advantageous
  • Ability to read and work from technical engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality
  • Confidence working to precise tolerances
  • Good communication skills
  • Positive, team-focused attitude
