About the role… We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Buyer to join our non-clothing team, delivering collections for our Next London Brands; ‘Lipsy’, ‘Love & Roses’ and ‘Friends like These’. We are looking for someone to continue driving the growth of the department by utilising your expert knowledge and strong eye for trends to deliver profitable and commercial ranges. If you’re innovative, driven and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is the role for you. We’re happy to consider full time or part time hours for the right candidate.
You will be…
- Continuously reviewing each brand’s customer profile to develop the product accordingly, demonstrating brand and customer awareness.
- Planning the range according to future trends that take into account range construction and pricing architecture, seasonal variations.
- Working collaboratively with Merchandising and Design to build a customer focused, commercial and inspirational range.
- Leading the department from a trend perspective to influence and educate Senior Management on key trends/items.
- Reviewing the range frequently with Merchandising to ensure product selection is commercial and reacting to sales.
- Results orientated with the ability to realise further growth for the department.
- Required to occasionally travel across the UK and Overseas to visit suppliers and attend trade fairs sourcing fabrics/trims and shapes to build new and innovative ranges.
- Must have an entrepreneurial mindset to look at pushing the department across each brand.
- Currently working at an Established Buyer level for a womenswear brand.
- Specialist knowledge & experience of buying bags as priority and good understanding of other accessories (scarves/hats/gloves etc).
- Have proven success at buying & leading a non-clothing department.
- Experience of delivering product ranges that are brand focused, fashion forward & delivered within critical path & profit parameters.
- Agility & adaptability are key to this role which requires skill & experience to work across multiple categories, brands & lead times.
- Proven experience managing and developing a team.
- Excellent communication skills and supplier management.
- Demonstrates passion and energy to be inspiring to others and deliver outstanding results.
- Self-motivated and engages those around.
- Proactive, vibrant and spirited and rises to challenges.
- Builds and maintains strong collaborative internal & external relationships.
- Highly organised with the ability to plan ahead and have a flexible approach and be reactive when necessary.
