Principal Mechanical Engineer

We’re Hiring: Principal Mechanical Engineer (North East UK – Newcastle Preferred)

A growing, independent MEP consultancy with a strong international presence is looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their UK team — ideally based in the North East near Newcastle.

This is a senior technical leadership role focused on delivering high-quality mechanical design across major projects, with a strong emphasis on data centers and mission critical facilities.

What You’ll Do

• Lead mechanical design across high-spec, performance-driven projects
• Guide and mentor engineers while fostering a collaborative, delivery-focused culture
• Work closely with clients to ensure solutions meet the highest technical and operational standards
• Drive best practice in energy efficiency, HVAC systems, and resilient infrastructure design
• Contribute to business development, proposals, and long-term client partnerships

What You Bring

• CEng (or working toward) with a Mechanical bias
• Experience delivering complex mechanical systems for data centers or mission critical sectors
• Technical leadership, project coordination, and team development skills
• Strong understanding of UK regulations, sustainability standards, and performance design
• A collaborative mindset and the drive to deliver quality, every time
