David Evans and Associates (DEA) is seeking a highly skilled Freight Rail Client Team Leader / Senior Project Manager. This position can be located in Tacoma, Salt Lake City, Portland, or Denver to focus specifically on our Rail Market's Strategic Growth. The responsibilities include project management and business development efforts to support our Transit and Rail Group. The ideal candidate will be a motivated leader with extensive experience and market expertise in multi-disciplinary transit and rail projects, playing a vital role from conceptualization to execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Market Development: Identify and evaluate new market opportunities; develop strategies to target new clients and projects.
- Business Development: Manage client relationships, develop new business, lead cross-unit selling, forecast sales, and stay updated on client technology trends.
- Client Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, conduct experience surveys, lead contract negotiations, and serve as a high-level client contact.
- Project Management: Act as principal-in-charge or project manager, monitor project performance, coach other PMs, manage contractual responsibilities, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Lead and mentor junior engineers and project managers to foster professional growth.
- Team and Resource Leadership: Lead pursuit staffing, partner decisions, revenue forecasting, and oversee client profitability.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in civil engineering design, focusing on freight rail land development projects.
- Experience within the railroad engineering industry and familiarity with design guidelines.
- Effective communication and collaborative skills.
- Ability to travel periodically.
- Experience with projects for BNSF, UPRR, CPKC, NS, or industry rail.
- Proven success in project delivery and business development.
- Commitment to an employee-owned culture.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and communication tools.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to supervise and organize work of professionals and technicians.
