Rocksteady Studios is an award-winning, critically acclaimed video game developer. Founded in 2004, we are home to the widely celebrated Batman: Arkham series of games. Rocksteady Studios is seeking an accomplished Production Director to optimise our development processes, team organisation, project communication, and planning. In your role you will foster continuous improvement in production disciplines across all titles and nurture your team to excel in their roles. Reporting directly to the Studio Director, your role will involve managing, supporting, and developing the Production team, including the Production Managers responsible for line production within each project team. You will collaborate with Heads of Discipline to coordinate resource allocation and serve as a key point of escalation and resolution for studio-wide operational issues.
You should possess a comprehensive understanding of production methodologies, with demonstrable experience in managing multiple large-scale console and PC projects through their full life cycle, including the delivery of post-launch content and services. Experience within large organisations handling a portfolio of multiple active titles, along with management and operation in a hybrid-remote context, would be advantageous as we navigate new challenges in an evolving workplace environment. A keen commitment to delivering the highest quality player experiences is essential, as is experience working directly with major global IP and brand stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities:- Defining, establishing, and evolving best-practice production methodologies and tools across the studio.
- Supporting Production Managers and their Production teams on projects to help them achieve high-quality outcomes balancing cost and schedule.
- Collaborating with the Production team to support the studio’s slate and goals, with a future-looking perspective on staff development, training, and priorities.
- Reporting to senior studio management and external stakeholders on project progress, issues, and risks.
- Working with Heads of Discipline, the P&C and Finance teams to take primary responsibility for the studio’s resource planning.
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities to support our aspirations for continuous improvements in studio culture: advocating for high-quality, collaborative, and healthy working practices.
- Connecting and collaborating with the wider WB Games studios group to share knowledge.
- Work closely with the Development Director to foster and implement innovative production techniques and processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies, including contingency planning and proactive problem-solving.
- Ensure that production practices align with the company's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Relevant experience in a Production leadership role, in the games industry, on projects at scale.
- Shipped multiple AAA console and PC games.
- Forward thinking leader who can deliver operational excellence in complex, interconnected environments.
- Expert knowledge of game development production methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Experience developing and mentoring a team of Producers and motivating a wider multi-disciplinary team.
- A role model of personal organisation and communication both written and verbal, able to adapt their style successfully to a wide variety of contexts.
- Experience with Unreal advantageous.
- Proficiency in production management software such as JIRA, Trello, Shotgrid or similar tools.
- Experience managing and operating in a hybrid-remote context, adapting to evolving workplace environments.
- Proven experience working directly with large global IP and brand stakeholders, ensuring alignment and high-quality player experiences.
Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager.
