As Head of Accounting, you will be a key member of the Senior Management Team in Finance, where you will work closely with the Assistant Finance Director (Reporting). In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee all aspects of the University’s financial management, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, accounting standards, and governance requirements. You will lead complex accounting projects that span multiple teams and stakeholders, including external partners, to drive strategic initiatives. This role also involves shaping financial strategy, advising executive leadership, and ensuring the effective delivery of statutory accounts, financial analysis, and treasury activities.
About you
You are a seasoned finance professional with a relevant qualification (CCAB or CIMA) and a track record of success in senior financial control roles. With extensive knowledge of current accounting standards and significant leadership experience in large, dynamic organisations, you excel in managing complex financial operations. You bring strong technical expertise, particularly in financial accounting and reporting and leadership of tax arrangements, and possess excellent communication and influencing skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Your proactive approach to improving systems and processes, combined with a commitment to fostering talent within your team, makes you a strategic thinker ready to drive impactful change.
