SDUK\’s brands include the Nations favourite cheese brand Cathedral City plus other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly), functional ingredients and dairy free products. In this key role within our engineering structure, as an electrical engineer you will be working across all low-voltage (LV) electrical engineering requirements across the main production site and the water processing facility (WPF), with many substations and LV panels across each. As the electrical low voltage duty holder, you will have responsibility for ensuring sitewide compliance of portable electrical equipment by carrying out quantifying and inspection activities, ensuring the site remains fully earthed, and continuing the lighting project across the site. Working with the power and controls teams, youll also have responsibility for ensuring electrical supply and designs align with the relevant regulations and business and site requirements. YOULL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY Testing, repairing, maintaining and installing low voltage electrical circuits. Maintaining and inspecting site low voltage electrical substations. Being responsible for the site wide electrical low voltage inspection compliance as the low voltage and low voltage risk duty holder. Providing whole site portable appliance testing and improvement recommendations based on captured field data. Quantifying, inspecting, maintaining and repairing whole site lighting and lighting circuits while ensuring optimum lux levels are maintained and driving energy saving initiatives. Ensuring all panel and equipment labels and signs are in place to comply with the latest regulations. Carrying out periodic inspections and testing with all documentation completed, available, and updated. Partnering with the wider power & controls team to discuss improvements and updates to policy documents. Managing the delivery of planned maintenance schedules for electrical inspection and testing of production equipment. Delivering the site support contracts and system upgrades to maintain the site controls systems. Assist with monitoring performance of electrical contractors in terms of technical delivery and safe working (including the adherence to all food safety standards, GMP and SSOW). YOURE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE An HNC/time-served qualified apprentice electrical engineer with demonstratable working experience as a low voltage duty holder. Trained and knowledgeable on current IEE wiring regulations (18 th edition) Experienced with single and 3-phase maintenance and installations (industrial experience an advantage). Trained and knowledgeable of the use of permit to work systems. Knowledgeable of the electricity at work regulations. Well organised with strong time management skills. Experienced utilising analytical and problem solving skills.
