Parks Operative

£13.91 per hour
Belfast

Main Duties

• Drive and operate council vehicles (C1+E licence required), including vans, trailers, tractors, and ride-on mowers

• Carry out grounds maintenance: mowing, pruning, planting, hedge cutting, sweeping, and litter removal

• Maintain parks, playgrounds, and sports facilities to set quality and safety standards

• Operate powered tools and equipment in line with health and safety regulations

• Support community gardens and assist with events and seasonal activities

• Conduct inspections of play areas and complete minor repairs where required

• Complete daily records and report incidents, damage, or hazards

Essential Requirements

• Full, current C1+E driving licence (for driving vehicle and trailer combinations)

• Minimum 1 years experience in:

  • General horticultural or gardening duties

  • Using powered hand tools and equipment

  • Engaging with the public in a face-to-face setting

• Must pass a driving assessment unless completed within the past year
