About Us
Founded in 1997, GamCare is one of the leading providers of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. We operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide treatment for anyone who is harmed by gambling, create awareness about safer gambling and treatment, and encourage an effective approach to safer gambling within the gambling industry.
The Role
GamCare is currently re-shaping its fundraising strategy and team, in response to changes in the gambling support sector, including a shift towards public sector funding models, including NHS commissioning. As part of this, we are also focused on diversifying our income through traditional fundraising channels such as Major Donors, Corporates, Trusts and Foundations and Public Donors. These are relatively new areas of fundraising for the charity.
We are seeking an Interim Senior Fundraising Manager to help us navigate this transition, and these new ways of working. This freelance/consultant role is key to identifying and securing diverse funding sources and income quickly.
The duration is for four months, at 3-4 days a week, with some flexibility, to be agreed. The role will be hybrid, working part remotely, with some in person time at our London head office (Farringdon), with flexibility, to be agreed. You will work within a small team. A competitive day rate will be offered, dependant on experience, at circa £400 pd.
About You
You’ll be an experienced fundraising professional with:
- In-depth knowledge of the UK/GB funding landscape, including current challenges and opportunities across Major Donors, Corporates, Trusts & Foundations, and Public Donors.
- Established relationships and contacts within the funding sector, with the ability to engage and build on these connections.
- A proven ability to leverage expertise and networks quickly to deliver impactful results.
- A track record of successfully securing six-figure funding or above and developing new relationships to drive organisational growth.
- The confidence to work autonomously and dynamically, taking ownership from day one and delivering results under tight timelines.
- Relevant experience in fundraising within the charity, health, or social care sectors.
- Expertise in writing or contributing to high-quality, successful fundraising proposals that resonate with funders.
