Job Description

This role is offered on a hybrid contract giving you the opportunity to also work from home three days a week.

Comic Relief reserves the right to close the role early if a large number of applications are received.

PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Stories Development (Corporate Partners) Producer will manage storytelling efforts for Comic Relief’s key Corporate Partners, including Sainsbury’s, British Airways, and Amazon. These partnerships are vital to Comic Relief’s income generation, and compelling storytelling plays a central role in engaging audiences and showcasing the transformative impact of partner donations.

This role will be the go-between the Corporate Partners and the rest of the CR Stories Team, identifying projects that our partners fund, reaching out and developing long-standing relationships, and curating bespoke content. The role will look ahead, scoping out and shaping story requirements across a 12-month period, enabling more relevant stories as well as identifying the best opportunities to engage the partners in the work.

You will manage all aspects of content production, including research, writing, shooting, and editing, to deliver high-quality outputs across partner and Comic Relief channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Comic Relief Partnerships Team in identifying Corporate Partners’ story needs and sharing assets with the Comic Relief Stories Team.
  • Work on highly sensitive and targeted casting of contributors for stories.
  • Attend and shoot story-based content, written, photography, or video. This may be as part of a larger team or independently. See production through from beginning to end – plan, shoot, edit, write-up, upload.
  • Take ownership of timing plans and budgets for allocated projects.
  • Carry out initial conversations with projects and possible contributors to gather stories and subsequently log and transcribe those conversations.
  • Research factual information.
  • Work across setting up story gathering project visits with other CR producers and production management in the UK and internationally (with a strong focus on higher-risk countries throughout Africa).
  • Build relationships with the funding team to understand Comic Relief’s impact and find ways to surface the best stories from the work we fund.
  • Keep a good record of all conversations with projects and contributors in line with CR’s internal processes.
  • Gather, log, and store contributor release forms in line with CR’s internal processes.
  • Keep a good record of where stories have been placed across CR and Partner output.
  • Some travel (including some international) will be required in this role.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a charity storytelling or media production role.
  • Strong self-shooting skills and proficiency in self-editing with Premiere Pro.
  • Demonstrable ability to meet tight deadlines while managing multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of compliance and safeguarding, including working with vulnerable individuals in challenging environments.
  • Excellent writing skills with a strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and brand alignment.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage projects across the UK and internationally, including in high-risk regions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to navigate diverse stakeholder relationships.
  • Risk awareness and the ability to evaluate the implications of content on Comic Relief’s brand and stakeholders.
  • Experience with record keeping.
  • Experience working cross-organisationally and internationally.
  • Experience with stories research and fact-checking.
