Business Analyst, Software

1-2 days per month in Sussex offices

To £55K + benefits

Business Analyst is required by a vibrant and growing software house. This role will see you working closely with external clients and in-house technical teams to deliver powerful software solutions. The ideal person for this role will be a skilled Business Analyst with excellent communication skills, a proactive and customer-centric approach and a passion for technology. #

This is a predominantly remote working role with approximately 1-2 days a month in the offices in Sussex. You will also be required to regularly visit clients throughout the UK so must be comfortable with some travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for the analysis activity through reviewing the domain, evaluating stakeholders, determining the output required and how best to achieve success
  • Conduct the analysis activity at customer locations in the UK or abroad to have face to face discussions and hold group workshops
  • Review the analysis and produce requirements with supporting documentation, which both the customer and technical teams understand
  • Communicate the documented analysis, thereby assisting in the approval of the output and ensuring the technical team deliver the required solution in accordance with the customer expectations
  • Support the development and release of the required solution by providing good and frequent collaboration with the technical and delivery teams, and verification of the developed output
  • Be accountable for the project scope in line with budget and customer expectations
  • Identify and manage risks to aid the success of the project
  • Document progress against outstanding milestones, status, resource requirements, issues, risks and dependencies, in accordance with the policies and procedures of the technical department
  • Collaborate in a professional and friendly manner with specialist staff (internal and external) at all stages of the software development lifecycle
  • Respond to support requests and post release queries by providing knowledge and documentation

Key Requirements:

  • Excellent soft skills such as communication, presentation and negotiation
  • Experience in delivering software using various software methodologies, particularly Agile and Waterfall
  • Experience in creating UML, BPMN 2.0 models and diagrams, particularly conceptual domain models, activity diagrams, and use case diagrams.
  • Experience in developing and documenting requirements, with acceptance tests, and providing supporting artefacts like wireframes and data dictionaries
  • Possess a thorough and enthusiastic approach to stakeholder management, being proactive in preparing for all engagement with users, subject matter experts, owners, and sponsors
  • Collaborate in a professional, friendly and attentive manner at all stages of the software development lifecycle, particularly with clients and specialist staff

Desirable Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • A focus on User Centred Design practises.
  • Experience of wireframes and UX/UI prototyping methodologies
  • BSc In Computing, Computer Science, Information Systems/Management or similar
  • Familiarity of development and database technologies ability to understand data mapping
