On behalf of our client we are looking for a pro-active and experienced, reliable Caretaker/Porter to work alone at a private residential apartment block taking responsibility for the smooth running of the property. This is an active job in undertaking internal and external cleaning of the communal areas of the building. The role will be to ensure the smooth running of the building by making sure that all common areas are clean, tidy and with the machinery and equipment functioning correctly. The Caretaker will liaise with the contracted suppliers when they perform their routine service visits or repairs, to ensure the above whilst undertaking minor maintenance and corrective actions as and when they occur. To be conversant with a PC, able to maintain records and communicate via email and to conduct and record fire alarm and emergency lighting tests. Also, to be resourceful, visible and personable member of the community, assisting residents and providing excellent customer service. The greatest need is for the Caretaker is to proactively work on their own initiative. For long periods of time the Caretaker will work alone and must therefore have self-motivation and initiative with the ability to get on with solving problems such as reactive maintenance/leaks etc and should demonstrate a pride in ensuring the effective and smooth running of the building.
