As our new Nursing Associate, you would be welcomed into a safe and supportive multidisciplinary staff team that would empower and encourage you to be the best version of yourself for the benefit of those we care for.

On a day-to-day basis, the role involves working with registered nurses and the wider multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan, organise and deliver clinical care in line with service needs and service-users’ mental and physical health needs, as agreed with supervising clinicians. Working hours would involve shifts, including some nights, weekends and bank holidays., As a Nursing Associate on Inpatients, your responsibilities would include:

  • Providing compassionate, safe and effective care and support to service-users to improve and maintain their mental, physical and behavioural health and wellbeing.

  • Monitoring the condition and contributing to the ongoing assessment of the health needs of service-users on a continual basis in partnership with other professionals, families, and carers.

  • Using knowledge and experience to make evidence-based decisions and solve problems.

  • Communicating effectively with colleagues as an active member of the multidisciplinary team.

  • Providing training and support to healthcare assistants and other staff as required.

You must be a Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register and have at least a Level 5 Foundation degree level specific to nursing associate practice.

Previous experience of working in a care setting would be an advantage, as would an interest in mental health.

They will also need an understanding of relational security and be prepared to model and promote the Trust’s values at all times., Previous experience of working within a health/care setting, Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role contributes to service development

  • understand the roles of a range of professionals and carers from other organisations and settings who may be participating in the care of a person and their family

  • understand responsibilities in relation to communication and collaboration., Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register

  • Educated to a minimum level 5 Foundation degree level specific to nursing associate practice

  • GCSEs Grade A-C in Maths and English or equivalent

Desirable criteria

  • QCF in Care/Health and Social Care Level 2/3 or equivalent experience, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
