A leading specialty (re)insurer is seeking a commercially focused Pricing Actuary to join its London-based actuarial team. This is a high-impact role acting as the key actuarial point of contact for underwriting across core commercial lines.

You’ll work closely with underwriters and senior stakeholders to deliver data-driven pricing insight, support model development, and shape strategy across both UK and European markets.

🔍 What you’ll be doing:

• Acting as the lead actuarial contact for specific underwriting teams, providing class-specific pricing expertise and continuity of support
• Developing, maintaining and modernising technical pricing models in line with internal standards and strategic frameworks
• Supporting case pricing, renewal rate movement analysis, rate monitoring and business planning
• Collaborating with underwriters and data teams to enhance model inputs and identify valuable new data sources
• Delivering portfolio-level insights on pricing adequacy, risk selection and class performance, particularly within Commercial Package lines
• Working alongside catastrophe modellers and underwriters on exposure analysis and aggregate portfolio views
• Supporting claims reserving reviews and delivering actuarial input into class performance reviews
• Providing training and guidance to underwriters on model use and pricing techniques

🧠 What you’ll bring:

• FIA (or nearly qualified) with strong experience in commercial lines pricing
• Solid understanding of Commercial Package insurance, ideally with exposure to UK and European SME or mid-market portfolios
• Strong technical skills in Excel and VBA, with VB.Net and SQL experience advantageous
• Effective communicator with the ability to engage underwriting and senior stakeholders
• Analytical mindset with a detail-oriented and proactive approach
• Experience in modern pricing platforms and a collaborative way of working
