Maintenance Engineer in Burnham-On-Sea

Role: Site Engineer
Shift: Monday to Friday – Days
Pay: £45,000 per annum
Location: Highbridge

You\’ll be the go-to engineer on site, responsible for maintaining everything from plant machinery to facilities – with the autonomy to shape the role and build strong relationships with trusted suppliers and contractors.

This is what you\’ll be doing:

As the Site Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading all site-based maintenance activity – from planned maintenance to emergency breakdowns.
• Creating and delivering preventative maintenance schedules to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Taking the lead on minor site projects, equipment upgrades and investment planning.
• Managing engineering stock and stores in a cost-effective way.
• Coordinating and overseeing contractors for repairs, servicing and new installs.
• Participating in the on-call rota

The experience you\’ll bring to the team:

• A mechanical engineering qualification (essential).
• Abiliity to carry out basic electrical fault finding duties.
• Hands-on experience with maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial setting – either as a recent apprentice or experienced time-served engineer.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Comfortable using a computer and writing maintenance reports.
• The ability to take ownership and work independently.
