Are you an experienced Service Manager with a passion for Customer service. Our client is looking for a Service Manager to join their family run business based in Daventry.

The Service Manager holds a key leadership position with our clients dealership, overseeing the service department operation and ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for managing a team of service technicians. Your role will play a critical role in optimising service efficiency, maintain high quality standards, and achieving departmental goals. You will need to require a strong knowledge of machinery, and will need to provide guidance, support and training to service technicians, fostering their professional growth. This role collaborates closely with our department, including sales and parts to ensure seamless operation and customer satisfaction.

What We re Looking For?

Strong Management background

PC and IT Iterate including MS office and with use of DMS Systems (Preferably IBCOS Gold but training can be provided)

Managing and developing of a team

Previous experience in appraisals

Being highly organised in a busy environment

Experience in following and leading processes & Procedures

Maintaining strong customer relationships

Previous experience in ground care, agriculture, hydraulics, electrical, Plant Engineer, Fitter or any related machinery is a benefit

Your Role:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department, including scheduling and assigning service technicians to customer requests and ensuring timely completion of service jobs.

Coordinate with the parts department to ensure the availability of required parts and manage inventory levels to support efficient service operations.

Monitor and analyse service department performance metrics, such as; Utilisation, Recovery Rate, Work in Progress, External Hours, service productivity, customer satisfaction, and first-time fix rates, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance performance.

Provide technical guidance and support to service technicians, assisting in complex repairs, troubleshooting, and resolving customer complaints or escalations.
