Background
The Head of Maintenance is an integral part of the senior management team and the custodian of the estate at Clerkenwell and Moorgate. This role works closely with the Director of Estates Environment and Facilities and is trusted advisor as the expert on all engineering, plant, machinery and fabric relating to the City St George’s Clerkenwell and Moorgate campuses.
Responsibilities
- The role holder will be responsible for the management of the university estate hard FM portfolio at Clerkenwell and Moorgate.
- Provide management to all the engineering and fabric teams, and the large contractor workforce.
- Coordinate and monitor operations, maintenance and project safety including responsibility for the safe execution of work.
Person Specification
- You will hold a City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in an Engineering, Building Services, Construction or related discipline.
- You will have a working knowledge of and training in construction and maintenance H&S risks such as Legionella, Asbestos, working in confined spaces, working at height, working with electricity, and working with potentially dangerous substances.
- Expert knowledge of the minimum requirements to ensure statutory compliance in an estate setting across: Water/Legionella/ LV, Fire, Asbestos.
