Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Practitioner, Permanency Lead to work full time in Medway. The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner, Permanency Lead job is up to £56,615 per annum.
Main duties:
- Devise systems and strategies to monitor and track permanency to progress care plans and permanence for children in a timely manner.
- Model expert practice in permanency work, developing the knowledge and skills base within Medway and disseminating that expertise across the service.
- Create a learning environment that will enable social workers to improve practice.
- Provide coaching, training, mentoring and support to social workers to enable staff to effectively plan for permanency for all children.
- Maintain and disseminate an excellent understanding of current research, evidence-based practice, policy, guidance, legislation and case law relating to permanency.
- Champion diversity and equality in all aspects of service delivery and people management.
- Establish and develop effective working relationships and productive partnerships with all the relevant partners.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of up-to-date policies, procedures and practice guidance promoting their application to practice to ensure that managers and social workers are clear about casework processes, their roles and responsibilities.
- Engage in a range of projects, quality assurance, analysis of performance information and research activities to identify gaps and strengths in practice and make recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure that findings from performance data and all quality assurance activity is distributed and used to improve practice, drive up standards and secure the best outcomes for children and young people in the Medway.
- Work closely with the court case progression manager in ensuring permanency planning is taking place and progressing for children.
- To work with colleagues to contribute to service plan objectives/targets.
- To participate in one-to-one Performance Development Reviews and contribute to the identification of own and team development needs.
- At the discretion of the Head of Service, to undertake such other activities which may be required from time to time which will be agreed and consistent with the nature of the job described above.

- A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Registered or eligible for registration.
