The Energy Transition Consulting Team works with clients across the traditional and new energy sectors to adapt, manage the risks and seize the opportunities of the energy transition. We specialize in providing strategic advice, analysis and solutions to companies making the transition from traditional energy systems to low-carbon alternatives.
We help our clients assess the impact of low-carbon scenarios on their operations and the implications of emissions targets and develop comprehensive energy transition strategies that align with their business objectives while taking into account the regulatory environment, market trends and sustainability goals.
We support our clients in the integration and development of renewable and low-carbon energy sources by providing strategic recommendations, analysis and insights on renewable energy, energy storage, cleantech innovation and supply chains, low-carbon fuels including hydrogen and renewable natural gas, and techno-economic analysis of CCUS opportunities and carbon markets.
This role will contribute to the execution of our team’s projects for private and public sector clients with a focus on their transition to low-carbon energy resources, including techno-economic analysis of emissions management options and decarbonization opportunities, as well as developing new low-carbon energy resources.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of consultants and experts with wide-ranging backgrounds in energy and the energy transition. The varied and changing nature of our projects leads to development of a diverse set of skills, and exposure to different industries and clients, including senior industry leaders and policy makers.
Responsibilities:
- Work on a project team with other consultants, under the direction of the project manager
- Identify internal and external information sources, gather, and synthesize data
- Efficiently analyze large quantities of data to produce insights using data analytics tools or programming languages
- Present findings concisely back to the team
- Build and run analytical models as required for consulting projects (e.g., Excel, Python, Power Bi, etc.)
- Participate in client or industry interviews and extract key takeaways
- Participate in client meetings and contribute by presenting aspects of the analysis
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in developing and implementing advanced modeling techniques using Python or other programming languages to analyze energy systems, optimize decarbonization strategies, and support the transition to sustainable energy solutions
- Demonstrated experience in industry, consulting, or finance environments, in areas related to emissions estimates and management, environmental management and/or plant operations
- Experience in management consulting will be a significant plus
- Minimum qualifications are BSc. in engineering, preferably in chemical, environmental or process engineering. A post-graduate degree is a plus (including in finance, economics, or business).
- Strong written and oral presentation skills in English (proficiency in a second language is an asset).
- Must have an analytical frame of mind and prepared to use data to back up opinions.
- Some travel is required average around 20% of time (but could occasionally be more)
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment providing ideas and open feedback.
