Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking a Fleet Driver to work with a Nottinghamshire-based Local Authority on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week.

The incoming Fleet Driver will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate transport for passengers across our community. You will be ensuring passengers, many of whom may be vulnerable, are supported and cared for on their journeys.

Main Duties:

  • Safely transport passengers, ensuring their wellbeing at all times
  • Operate fleet vehicles in line with relevant policies and legal requirements
  • Ensure passenger safety, with particular attention to wheelchair users and others requiring additional support
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of vehicles
  • Use communication systems and issue tickets, collect fares, and account for payments in accordance with policy
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including driver hours and use of tachographs
  • Report vehicle or service issues promptly to management
  • Work flexibly as part of a rota, including weekend work

Essential Criteria:

  • Full UK Driver’s License with category D entitlement
  • Minimum of 2 years' driving experience, including transporting passengers and working with vulnerable individuals
  • Relevant training i.e. Manual Handling, Emergency First Aid, and wheelchair securing knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer care and safety
  • Capable of working under pressure to meet tight schedules
  • Commitment to safeguarding passengers, especially those with additional needs, and upholding the standards for respect and service excellence
