Technical Sales – Science Based

Salary: £40,000 £50,000 basic + commission (up to £60,000)
We are supporting a long-established, family-owned scientific company in Bourne End in their search for a commercially focused Business Development Executive. If you have a background in technical sales and a strong academic foundation, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable, friendly, and high-performing team.
About the Role
- Identify and win new business through outbound technical sales.
- Develop cross-selling opportunities with existing customers.
- Approximately 90% telephone-based with some in-person visits and attendance at UK and international trade shows.
- Reporting directly to the Commercial Director as part of a close-knit sales team.
Key Requirements
- A 2:1 or First-Class degree in a science-related subject (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years experience in a technical sales role with clear evidence of success.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- GCSE Maths grade C or above. The role involves quoting in multiple currencies, so strong numeracy is essential.
- Competent in MS Word and Excel.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Based within commutable distance of SL8 or willing to relocate.
- Willingness to travel internationally for customer visits and trade shows.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of a non-English European language.
- Experience using CRM systems.
- Background in medical or healthcare-related sales.
