An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Management Accountant to join a dynamic team in Hertford. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to play a key role in driving accurate financial reporting and supporting strategic decision making.
Responsibilities include:
- Producing monthly management accounts, including P&L statements, balance sheets and reconciliations
- Conducting variance analysis to budgets and forecasts
- Supporting and assisting with internal and external auditing
- Supporting the year-end audit process, coordinating with external auditors
- Responding to internal and external queries and requests
- Monitoring and reviewing purchase and sales ledger transactions; preparing VAT returns
- Mentoring junior members of staff, fostering a culture of learning and developing
The ideal candidate:
- Proven background in a similar role with hands-on experience in monthly reporting
- Strong Excel skills, particularly for data analysis
- Ability to produce monthly management accounts
- Experience working with auditors in preparation of year end and related queries
- Experience working with ERP systems (Sage 200)
- Detail-oriented approach with strong commitment to meeting deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills - able to communicate with stakeholders across all levels
