Client: Our client is a traditional privately owned M&E contractor based in Kent. The business turns over £30M+ undertaking projects in the retail banking, government, commercial office, and healthcare sectors. Their average project size is between £200K and £5M, with the majority of their projects being located in central London. Having been established over 50 years, they benefit from being a preferred contractor for major blue-chip clients including ISG, Willmott Dixon, Barclays, and HSBC. This means they have a continuous and stable workflow. The business has recently appointed a new Managing Director who is set to take the business on a growth trajectory over the next 15 years.

Role: Electrical Contracts Manager – £75,000 – £85,000 + Package

My client seeks a multiple job running Electrical Contracts Manager. The position will be office-based, visiting sites. Site visits will need to be flexible and you will need to manage your time appropriately. Typically you will be overseeing 2-4 projects at one time. Each project will have a Site/Project Manager based on it.

Role/Responsibilities:

  1. Involvement in estimating from buildability perspective and mid-bid meetings
  2. Tender review/validation
  3. Upfront engineering – looking at high-level procurement and design
  4. Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor, and consultants)
  5. Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project
  6. Value Engineering where applicable
  7. All deliverables on a project
  8. Managing 2-4 sites at any given time
  9. Client relationship management – Main contractor, MEP consultant, professional team downstream to subcontractors
  10. Overall lead – Technically, commercially, operationally
  11. Overseeing multiple projects
