An outstanding school in Hounslow is looking to secure an attendance officer to start in September 2025.

The school is an outstanding 11 - 18 Co-educational community school committed to delivering excellent academic success. The school has traditional values coupled with a modern approach to learning to ensure all their students develop into confident, ambitious learners. This outstanding secondary school is looking to secure an attendance officer for a September 2025 start. The successful candidate will need to have previous experience within this role in order to be considered.

The main duties will include:

  • Advising the school on strategies to promote the regular and punctual attendance of all pupils and assisting with the implementation of agreed strategies.
  • Updating school records, analysing attendance data, and providing reports to senior managers and other professionals.
  • Disseminating information, both internally and externally, in a timely fashion.
  • Meeting with school staff, pupils, and parents to establish the reasons for non-attendance/poor punctuality and agreeing a plan with appropriate strategies and timescales to tackle the issues.
  • Making contact with families in response to allocated referrals through home visits and/or meetings in school.
  • Liaising with the Education Welfare Officer.
  • Preparing the appropriate paperwork and presenting information as required to enable the school to meet its obligations and statutory responsibilities.
  • Liaising and working with external organisations as required.
  • Keeping accurate, clear, and concise records of all interventions and consultations and updating information on the school's attendance system.
