A leading technology professional services company seeks an experienced Physical & Electronic Security Advisor / Security Project Engineer (non-IT Security) to support the operational delivery of their Protective Security Strategy.
Core element to this role:
- Known internally as the Security Project Engineer, this role is primarily accountable for supporting the development and delivery of physical security as part of Capital delivery and major projects across this major utilities company.
- Developing relationships with IT/OT and 3rd party supply chain/Tier 1 Contractors.
- Travel across the whole estate will be required to support business needs.
- The role is the link between the overarching security legislation, regulators guidance and the business.
- Must be eligible for National Security vetting to SC level.
- Ideally you will come from a highly regulated industry, including but not limited to: Construction, Government Police, Armed Forces etc, Utilities Power, Oil, Gas, Electric, Nuclear, Water.
On a day to day basis as the Physical & Electronic Security Advisor / Security Project Engineer, you will be:
- Providing physical security advice and guidance to the business in relation to compliant security measures with the focus on major and capital delivery projects.
- Supporting Regional Security Advisors assuring any security upgrades/projects are compliant with the relevant company physical security policies and standards.
- Working with the AMC Manager to continually improve the AMC ESS system performance and ensure systems are up to date and maintained.
- Collaborating with IT/OT, 3rd Party integrators and Tier 1 contractors, developing effective working relationships and supporting service delivery improvements for ESS.
- Promoting security within the business to ensure the organisation's people, processes, premises and assets security is maintained.
About You - Required for the Physical & Electronic Security Advisor / Security Project Engineer role:
- Established experience in a similar security role/Experience and understanding of physical security risk management processes.
- Knowledge of the integration of varied security disciplines at an operational level.
- Experience of conducting security risk assessments and security investigations.
- Experience of auditing and compliance of security standards and policies.
- Experience of stakeholder management relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of working collaboratively within a matrix organisation and providing security advice and guidance.
- Experience of collaboration with the police or other security agencies in delivering security or resilience.
- Ability for operational analysis; reviewing existing operations to understand vulnerabilities.
- Ability to influence stakeholders using knowledge and experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Track record of delivering best security practice to large organisations.
Ideally you will also have:
- Relevant physical security qualifications (ASIS PSP, CSMP, Security Institute BTEC/NVQ L4) or higher or relevant experience.
- Specialist security training (NPSA accredited) obtained through a police, military or civil service background.
- Understanding of the legislation pertaining to utilities security.
- Understanding of the regulatory guidance pertaining to utilities security.
