This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong, positive relationships with students to support their emotional well-being and engagement in school life
- Provide one-to-one and small group pastoral support to help pupils manage emotions, behaviour, and social interactions
- Monitor student welfare and behaviour across the school day, working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families
- Support the implementation of behaviour and emotional support plans
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment
- Assist in managing transitions, incidents, and conflict resolution
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational, SEN, youth work, or mental health setting
- A calm, empathetic, and consistent approach to behaviour and emotional support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to remain positive and proactive under pressure
