Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)

This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong, positive relationships with students to support their emotional well-being and engagement in school life
  • Provide one-to-one and small group pastoral support to help pupils manage emotions, behaviour, and social interactions
  • Monitor student welfare and behaviour across the school day, working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families
  • Support the implementation of behaviour and emotional support plans
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment
  • Assist in managing transitions, incidents, and conflict resolution

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational, SEN, youth work, or mental health setting
  • A calm, empathetic, and consistent approach to behaviour and emotional support
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to remain positive and proactive under pressure
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all pupils
