Job Description
We are looking for an individual who will be responsible for the overall baggage handling system (BHS) design.
The role, based in Heathrow, is specific and candidates should meet the requirements of the role described. This includes an understanding of CDM requirements and will provide a functional, integrated system which meets the customer requirements.
- Responsible to assess the BHS compliance against the customers Functional Requirements (User Requirements) and manage requirements in accordance with BUK Integrated Management System.
- Design coordination of the Mechanical, Electro-mechanical, Low Level Controls and High Level Controls elements of complex, integrated baggage handling systems.
- Preparation of system design calculations, specifications and documentation including co-ordination of the system simulation.
- Resolving cross-functional design issues at a project level.
- Management and co-ordination of the project design and engineering team.
- Design co-ordination with external parties (supplier, customer and all relevant stakeholders).
- Responsible that formal Design Reviews are carried out.
- Providing support to the Project Manager in developing and maintaining a detailed project plan.
- Responsible that all required project risk assessments are prepared and the project health and safety file is compiled.
- To ensure that nonconformities are processed quickly and that corrective actions are implemented.
Qualifications
Engineering Degree.
MUST have experience in a similar role.
Ideally worked on integrated Automation Systems in the Manufacturing or Distribution Industries.
Preferably worked on Airport Baggage Handling Systems design.
