The vacancy provides the opportunity for an inspirational individual to work as a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant as part of an experienced and friendly team in our Nursery and Junior School. A recognised teaching assistant qualification at Level 3 is essential, and an EYFS qualification at level 3 is desirable; however, we can support with training in this if required for suitable candidates.
To succeed in this role, you will need excellent interpersonal skills and good levels of numeracy and literacy (equivalent to at least level 2 qualifications in English). You will have a flexible approach and be happy to work across Nursery through to Key Stage 2 as required, demonstrating the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be well organised and have a patient, caring personality and be passionate about learning and supporting children to develop and achieve their best. We also encourage outdoor learning, so you will be happy working outdoors as well as within the classroom.
Northampton High Junior School is a beautifully designed space where girls from Nursery (age 2 plus) to Year 6 enjoy a ‘learning without limits’ environment. Our ethos puts the pupils front and centre and allows them space to grow and develop according to their needs. In our dedicated Nursery and Reception space, the girls learn through play in line with the EYFS framework. Pupils from Year 1-6 have classrooms with break-out spaces to allow individual and small group work under the supervision of teachers and assistants.
